I don’t want to talk about my day

It’s pretty standard conversation to ask someone about their day. It’s even considered being friendly and kind. But sometimes in our marriage, that question doesn’t go over well when the person being asked has no interest in talking about their day. Or doesn’t remember what happened in their day. Do we have to talk about our day, for real?
